How event formatting and scheduling work.

## How should I write calendar events so Etisia can send SMS?

The most reliable event title format is: "John Smith 415 555 014•". Phone-only entries (for example "415 555 014•") also work, and name-only works when that contact already exists.

If Etisia sees first name + last name + phone number for the first time, it can automatically save that contact.

## Can I use only a phone number or only a name?

Yes, phone-only works. For name-based matching, you need full first name + last name.

First name alone is not enough. First name + last name without a phone number works only if that contact already exists in your contacts.

## Does Etisia read only the event title?

Etisia uses the event title to match a client, so put their full name or phone number there rather than only in the description.

You can keep your own notes in the event description.

## Are SMS reminders sent for all-day events?

No. All-day events (without a concrete start time) are skipped for automatic reminder sending.

If you want reminders, the event must have a specific start date and time.

## When are reminders sent?

Per calendar, you can choose up to 3 reminder timings (for example 2 days before, 1 day before, 1 hour before, or 15 minutes before). The "Immediate" option can also send a confirmation about 2 minutes after a new appointment is added.

If you enable Smart Morning Reminder, Etisia sends around 08:00 on the event day, and for very early appointments it can send around 20:00 the evening before.

Timing is always calculated using the event timezone. If quiet hours are enabled, sends between 22:00 and 07:00 are shifted to the evening.

## What if an event is moved, edited, or canceled?

When you change an event in Google Calendar, Etisia updates pending reminders so clients do not receive outdated timing.

If an event is canceled, pending sends for that event are canceled as well.
