Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about how Etisia sends SMS appointment reminders from Google Calendar.
What is Etisia?
Etisia is a tool that sends automated SMS appointment reminders from your Google Calendar. You add a client’s phone number to a calendar event, Etisia detects it, and it sends the client a text reminder before the appointment - so you keep the calendar you already use and reduce no-shows.
How does Etisia work with Google Calendar?
Etisia connects to your Google Calendar and watches your events. When an event includes a client’s phone number, Etisia automatically sends an SMS reminder at the time you choose before the appointment. There is no separate booking system to learn - your calendar stays the single source of truth.
How fast is setup?
Setup takes under a minute. You connect your Google Calendar, pick a reminder template and timing, and you’re ready to send. There is nothing to install and no booking system to migrate to.
Which calendars and tools are supported?
Etisia works directly with Google Calendar. Any appointment you keep in Google Calendar - added manually or pushed in from another booking tool - can trigger an SMS reminder, as long as the event includes the client’s phone number.
Do my clients need an app?
No. Your clients receive a normal text message on their phone. They don’t need to install anything, create an account, or sign up for anything to get an Etisia reminder.
How much does Etisia cost?
In the US, the Starter plan starts at $12 per month, billed yearly at $144, excluding tax. Monthly billing is $15 per month. Higher tiers add more SMS volume, more calendars, and team features. Prices for other countries are on the pricing page.
How does Etisia handle GDPR and SMS consent?
Etisia processes your clients’ data under the EU GDPR. As the business sending the reminders, you are responsible for having your clients’ consent to text them, including meeting US consent rules such as the TCPA if you text clients in the US. Etisia gives you the tools to send responsibly - quiet hours and one-tap opt-out - and reminders stay appointment-related rather than marketing.
How do recipients opt out of SMS reminders?
Every reminder supports a one-tap opt-out, and recipients can reply with a stop instruction where supported. Etisia also honors quiet hours so messages aren’t sent at inconvenient times. Recipients can ask Etisia not to text their number at any time.
Which countries and languages does Etisia support?
Etisia is available in 11 countries: the US, the UK, Australia, Ireland, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Spain, Poland, and Portugal. Reminders and the product can be delivered in English, Slovenian, German, Croatian, Spanish, Polish, and European Portuguese.
How much can Etisia reduce no-shows?
SMS appointment reminders are one of the most effective ways to cut no-shows, because texts are read quickly and prompt clients to cancel earlier or show up. Many appointment-based businesses see a meaningful drop in missed appointments after turning reminders on. Try the no-show calculator to estimate the impact for your business.
