What Etisia does for Australian businesses
Etisia is an SMS reminder app for Google Calendar, made for Australian businesses: if a booking in your calendar carries the client's mobile number, that client gets an SMS before the visit. These SMS reminders for Google Calendar go to clients, not to you, as one-way text reminders, and the cancel link is up to you. You pay nothing for 21 days and need no card; from then on, Starter costs A$41/mo billed yearly (ex GST where applicable).
The essentials
- Who the SMS goes to
- The client on the booking, on their own mobile, with nothing to download.
- Finding the client's mobile
- The booking's title, description, location or guests, or a saved client's full name.
- The client's options
- Read it, and cancel with the link when that's turned on. It's one-way.
- Once the trial ends
- Starter costs A$41/mo billed yearly (ex GST where applicable) after your 21 free days, and there's no card to enter before then.
- Getting set up
- Make an account here and link Google Calendar once. Then book the way you always do.
Three steps from Google Calendar to an SMS reminder
-
Log in with Google, then tick your calendar
Use the Google account that holds your bookings. It can be your own calendar or one you're allowed to edit; unticked calendars stay untouched.
-
Add the client's mobile to the booking
Type it into the title or description beside the client's first and last name. Etisia keeps the client on file, so next time the name alone is enough. Adding mobile numbers to bookings
-
The SMS goes out at your chosen time
The default is the day before. You can also pick set times as early as a month ahead or as late as 15 minutes before, with up to 3 reminder times per calendar on any plan (choosing reminder times). Quiet hours come switched on: a send time between 22:00 and 07:00 moves earlier, to about 20:00. You'll see “(SMS ready ✅)” in the title, and “(SMS sent ✅)” once it's gone.

Beauty Studio: Hello, you have an appointment with us tomorrow, October 8, 2026 at 15:30.
What your client sees on their mobile
Your business name leads, then the day and the 24-hour time. This is the standard reminder for a 15:30 booking, sent the day before. The cancel link is off here, as it is on a new account.
- A plain SMS. Clients don't install or sign in to anything.
- An optional cancel link. Switch it on and a link is added at the end. The client follows it, types in the number the SMS went to and chooses “Yes, cancel the appointment”; the booking is removed from your Google Calendar and an email lets you know.
- One-way only. Clients can't text back, so they call you instead, or use the cancel link if it's on.
- Your wording, if you'd rather. Keep the standard text, pick another ready-made one or put it in your own words; the day, time and any event location are added for you.
Any Google Calendar appointment that has a mobile number on it
Phone bookings, walk-ins, messages and online bookings that land in Google Calendar all count. If the appointment sits in a connected calendar with the client's mobile, or a saved contact's full name, Etisia can send the SMS. It suits massage therapists, physios, hairdressers, trainers and tutors whose week lives in Google Calendar.
Etisia picks the number up from
- the appointment's title
- its description, location or guests
- a saved contact with the same full name
When no SMS goes out
- Etisia finds no number (the title shows this)
- the number has another country's code, such as +64 for New Zealand
- the appointment is all day
- the calendar isn't connected
- the appointment is deleted before its reminder time
- you've used up the month's SMS on your plan
